TerpsRecruiting exclusive: Tre Campbell

Through the first two Nike EYBL events, two teams remain an undefeated 9-0: Massachusetts' Expressions Elite and Maryland's Team Takeover.

A large part of Takeover's success can be attributed to starting point guard Tre Campbell, who the Terps recently offered.

Campbell has averaged 7.6 points, 4.7 assists and 2 rebounds per game this season on the AAU circuit. As a result, he's earned scholarship offers from La Salle, Penn State, Virginia Commonwealth, Massachusetts, Charlotte, Old Dominion, Towson and most recently Maryland.

Update: Shortly after publishing, Campbell received offers from Xavier and Pittsburgh.

"Coach [Mark] Turgeon came to my school and we talked and he offered me," Campbell explained in an exclusive interview with TerpsRecruiting.

He admitted no single school stands out yet, but says he expects to make his decision in the fall. And despite the Terps holding commitments from incoming guards Roddy Peters and Romelo Trimble, Campbell says it doesn't hurt their chances in landing him.

"I think we can all get along and play together," he said. "We all do different things on the court."

Several of Campbell's AAU teammates hold offers from Maryland, including sharpshooter Dion Wiley, big men Obi Enechionyia and Martin Geben, and Franklin Howard and Bryant Crawford, both of whom are not on Team Takeover's 17U roster yet.

Campbell says he and Wiley -- a prime Terps target who Campbell says "is like my brother" -- have discussed the possibility of playing together at Maryland.
