Terps extend scholarship offers

An interesting development given that Maryland brought in a pair of ballhandlers in Roddy Peters (class of 2013) and Romelo Trimble (class of 2014). All three new offers are guards for Team Takeover.

Here's an introduction to the trio...

Tre Campbell helped lead Team Takeover's 17U team to a 4-0 record at the EYBL event in Los Angeles over the weekend. He averaged 6 points, 3.3 assists and 1.8 rebounds on 36% shooting.

The 6-foot-1, 160-pound junior was second-team All-Met last year after averaging 13.7 points per game for St. John's College High (20-10, 11-7 WCAC), hitting 73 three-pointers along the way. He holds offers from Maryland, VCU, George Mason, Penn State and St. Joseph's, among others.

Franklin Howard is a 6-foot-4, 175-pound guard for Paul VI high school. As a sophomore, he was second on the team in scoring (11.5), earning third team All-Met. He helped guide the school to a 27-5 (18-0 WCAC) record.

Howard holds offers from Maryland, Florida, Georgetown, Miami (FL), NC State, Ohio State and Villanova, among others.

Bryant Crawford finished his sophomore year with Gonzaga, helping lead the school to a 27-5 (18-0 WCAC) finish. The 6-foot-2, 175-pound guard ranked fourth on Gonzaga's roster in points per game this season (8.6). He reportedly holds offers from Maryland, Georgetown, Indiana, and Rutgers, among others.

With Indiana recruit Phil Booth and Terps target Dion Wiley commanding the majority of minutes for Team Takeover's 17U squad, Crawford and Howard are not on the roster. Both should be by next summer.
